Project Aurelian - overview

A JRPG demo set in a Mediterranean inspired fantasy world, made by Aurelian arts - a start up comprised of Bungie and Airship Syndicate employees. Its turned based combat is centered around a row system, with combatants weaving between the front and back lines to perform powerful abilities, or to avoid attacks from the enemy. All work was done in the Godot engine.

Level Layouts, Environment asset Generation and decoration

There are many locations to explore in Aurelia, and it was my job to make them come to life. I worked with godot’s sprite sheet and lighting tools to take the locations outlined by narrative from idea to playable.

Sprite maps were lit in engine which let us change the time of day with a button press

Character Animation

From idle cycles to casting spells, I drew and animated all the characters for this project. I would often vary the framerate of each animation to keep cost in check while adding extra punch where needed. Check out more here
